Getting started

Welcome to OneLit! We’re so excited that you’ve taken the first step on your journey to becoming part of the OneLit creator community. OneLit is a place where everyone has a story to tell. This article will help you understand what OneLit is, what makes it a special place for creators, and why you should publish your stories here. Let’s get started.

What is OneLit?

OneLit is home to readers and writers who connect through the power of story, making it the world’s most-loved social storytelling platform. It’s a place for new creators to write and share their stories, and for readers to connect with the stories they love. OneLit gives creators the tools to develop their fanbase, champion their stories, and see their writing craft get rewarded.

Why create on OneLit?

OneLit enables you to become a creator by encouraging you to write the exact story you love to read and helping you find an audience that will love it too. We believe your stories matter and that you should let the world hear them. At OneLit, we empower and celebrate diverse voices and stories from all over the world.

Creating an account

You can sign up for OneLit with your Google account or with your email address. Either way, every account has an email address, and it's how we contact you if something goes wrong. We recommend not using a school email address, since it may stop working once you graduate.

You must be 13 or older to create an account.

Your date of birth is used only for age checks. It is never shown publicly or used for other purposes.

Your account gets a username when it's created. It's part of the link to your page, and it can't be changed. Your display name is what other people see on your stories and profile, and you can set it or change it any time on your account page. It can be 2 to 32 characters long, using letters, numbers, spaces, hyphens, underscores and apostrophes.

If you create a story, please note that it's not possible to transfer it to another account.

Already have an account? Sign in on the sign-in page with Google or with the same email. If your code doesn't arrive, check your spam folder, or go back and send another one.
